Fort Road Hotel

Spent the loveliest night of my tour of England in this hotel! This stay was really the icing on the cake, I wasn't expecting so much. From the welcome to the goodbye, everything was perfect: the kindness of the staff, the quality of the food (the service, in general) and above all the care given to the room, down to the last detail – I took great pleasure in discovering it; the staff had even left me a welcome cookie, how thoughtful! Otherwise, the location of the hotel overlooking this small coastal town, with its terrace marking the highest point of the surroundings, adds romance to this destination. I can't recommend this hotel enough for a stopover in Margate!

We loved our stay at the Fort Road Hotel. I loved the design, the rooms were cosy, bedsheets were so soft, and the bathroom was spacious with great products. The location was super convenient to get everywhere you needed to go. The breakfast was great too! What I appreciated most were all the little details – they had this book with recommendations around Margate and details about the history of the hotel, info about the art found around the hotel, and where all the products were sourced. It was so amazing to see how much it supported local suppliers. For us, it was a perfect place to stay for a weekend getaway!

Staff were really nice. Food in the restaurant was delicious. Great location. Sea view is really only a corner of the sea as it’s blocked out by a giant sandstone building. No TV in the room was a bit strange. This was pointed out in the images - but for the same price there are hotels that provide both view and TV in Margate.

From the moment we checked in we were made to feel welcome and at home. The staff are all so friendly and helpful. The rooms are beautiful, nicely decorated. Comfortable bed and soft bedding. The continental breakfast with coffees and fresh juices were a perfect start to the day. We went to listen to live music in the basement bar, nice ambience and negroni cocktail. Very enjoyable stay, would recommend.

I had a really lovely stay at Fort Road Hotel. Excellent and friendly service, the room was beautiful and it was one of the comfiest beds I’ve slept in. Breakfast was really lovely, and I also had dinner at the restaurant which was excellent too. I stayed on a Tuesday night and sadly the bar was closed. Would definitely come back.

Very happy with my stay here. The entrance wasn't obvious (around the side) as I came late. Once I made it in the welcome was friendly. The staff were nice. The bar well stocked. The breakfast was good. Its a little unusual to pay extra for an egg dish but it was worth it. I'd stay here again.

Lovely, modern, classy hotel with excellent service and just enough amenities to elevate what might otherwise feel like a self-catered spot. Great service at the small bar (served us no matter the time) and the morning breakfast was sufficiently delicious. Location (views!) and room cleanliness 5/5. Simple roof terrace with a spectacular view was a major plus. The walls are a bit thin and I could hear staff walking and talking in the morning which did ruin a bit of the ambiance.
